It’s hard to believe that it’s the end of another school year. Never in my wildest nightmares did I ever expect to experience a year like this. I’m proud of the resiliency our students showed throughout these incredible times. I wish we could have shared our final product with you, all of our ensembles were making excellent progress going into Spring Break and it was shaping up to be an outstanding spring.
As classes are not in session it will be the students responsibility to return all supplies belonging to the music dept. This includes uniforms, method books, fingering charts, instruments etc (the exact list can be found on our event page, June 18th and 19th) and we will be holding 2 drop off days, June 18th and 19th.
Music Supply Drop off: students will enter the music room through the outside doors (no access to the school will be permitted). Drop off their supplies in the appropriate area and check in with Mr. Monkman. Students who are taking music courses in 2020/21 will also be able to pick up their summer music packages on this day.
Lastly I’d like to take a moment to speak about our music dept grads. I wish we were able to celebrate and honour you the way you deserve. For some of you we have spent the past 6 years together and I’ve had the joy of watching you grow from kids into adults and I could not be more proud of the people you have become. Thank you for everything you’ve given to the music program, you are forever a member of the Graham Music family and are always welcome to come back and visit. This years music grades are:
– Sara Ellis clarinet
– John Grenier trombone
– Nodoka Iwasa voice
– Howard Le trumpet
– Jeffrey Peters trumpet
I wish you nothing but the best in the upcoming years and can’t wait to see what you will achieve.
– Mr. Monkman
